New Beginning

Today's April and that means Spring season arrived. Although I totally adore the Winter months, espacially when she scatters snow. In my world, it can never be too cold.
But to be fair, Spring just gives the world that one little sparkle no other season ever gives. The birds sing their happy song, the world is coloured with pastel colours, it's not too warm and surely not too cold anymore. Slowly people come out of their dark cabin and it looks like the best time for a whole new beginning.

So, I started with a new diet. I've been working out, eating more healthy and drinking loads of water. I've got 24 weeks to loose at least 8 kg!! fingers crossed!!

Things I love Friday

Still no Wednesday, but trust me, I'm getting there :)

Last week, the mailman made my day when I'd found the latest H&M on the doormat. A new magazine with their Boho campagne. I think H&M does Boho really well. I happen to love H&M and the Bohemian, Boho, Boho chic style.

Yes, I love the hippie/gypsy/flower power style. I love the cowboy boots, the layers, soft colours & it feels really comfy without having to look sporty. But, - yes there's a big but, you MUST be really carefull with mixing the style. If you're doing it wrong, you don't look Boho, but hobo and you don't want that.. Actrice Mischa Barton sometimes misses the Boho style and unfortunally goes hobo right away. It's ok to try, but this doesn't really make her a Boho chic icon.

But there are loads of Boho icons out there who try and get it. Like Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie, Zooey Deschanel, Kate Moss, even Lisa Hannigan. They all get the style very well!
So, this week I Love the Boho life.

Things I love Saturday

So, over the last days I've been busy working. But here I am, making my Wednesday a 'Things I Love' on Saturday.

Love searching for that one awesome bike on Ebay.

Love getting fit. It's a long hard road, but I've taking the first few steps and I just can't wait to run as hard as I can to the finish.

Love baking sweet things.

Love going to the movies with the gals from work. The movie sucked, I hate Dutch movies with their bad acting, horrible filming and stolen jokes, but it's nice to hang out after work and have fun.

Love painting my boring bike green.

Love getting my friend on the bike who rather takes the car for smallest things. I love cycling, always have, and I hate it when people take their cars instead for just a few miles. It's so much healthier and it saves money.

Love getting the back garden fixed. It's a big ugly mess right now, but we have some awesome ideas for a nice low budget garden. You see, I don't want to spend to much on it, I'm not really a garden kind of person, I hate bugs, too much sun, I'm not good with plants and I don't have enough patients to just sit there and just sit. But we have our cats who I know will love the garden, we're thinking about babies and I do love the summer evenings when it's much cooler and the sky turns colourful.

Love taking my mum shopping. She loves to shop, I hate it, but I'm making my mum happy by going with her, so, it makes me happy :)

Love the cheap bagels I bought from the supermarket. Four lovely bagels for only 1.19 Euro's!!

A Tribute to the Worst Irish Accents in the Movies

I love the Irish accent, but apparently Hollywood doesn't. Why don't they invest a little bit more to hire some great voice coaches to save the (O)Irish accent from someone like Julia Roberts. Because come on Julia, you could have done so much better! It's a shame...

Things I love Wednesday

Love it when my friend Wendy and her lovely boyfriend Richard make me feel welcome everytime I visit their home. And I do a lot, unannounced. They always try to keep me for diner, and last week I did, I stayed and had some nice food.

Love giving friends an unannounced visit and surprise them with a small gift. That's why I came to Wendy's house. Last year Wendy'd got some terrible bad news, but now she made this whole new start, a new beginning, a new life and as a friend, I love to applause that with a little cute gift.

Love the new basket on my bike. And I love working on my bike. For some time, I've been saving for a fixed gear. And maybe I will buy a new one, or I'll go crazy and make my own. I really enjoy working on my bike... gosh, like I need a new hobby!

Love getting one extra day work! From this summer, I will get more hours like I wanted. I never thought I would find more hours at my work, because it's a cute, but very small business. We don't have that much costumers, but my boss desperately needed to loose some hours, so I'm taking some of hers.

Love my little baby neighbour Senna. She's such a cute baby and with two months talking already! I want a baby :)

Love baking cookies! Especially when I make my hubby happy with them.

Things I love Wednesday

Love the sunny days. Last week we have had amazing bright sunny days, telling us Spring is on the way. Even though I don't mind the cold winter days, and adore the fall like chocolate, I also love when the season is changing to Spring. I love the first little green in the trees, when the birds sing their beautiful song, the first flowers, the smell, the moment you don't have to wear that funny hat for the cold anymore.

Love adding music to the PS3 list. When I'm free from work, I'm home mostly, doing some reading, writing, drawing, or learn how to sew, I do always with music on the background. All day long I can listen to the most beautiful songs.. and it makes me happy.

Love taking a hike. I love the woods, and now that we have the new car, we can go to places and not worry about the ridiculous high gasoline prices. Leaving early in the morning, taking a hike, climbing on the sand hills like we are kids and not worry about what other people might think, is so much fun and an awesome way to start the week.

Love getting compliments from my boss. Believe me, sometimes I mess up big time, I'm a total klutz, but to hear that she believes in me, thinks I'm a fast learner, just makes my week.
The other day, I was a bit pissed I needed to work so many Saturdays, because that means I only have one 'lazy' day with my hubby to do things together. But now I know she just prefers me for all those reasons. I got all warm when we had that talk.

Love when my friend calls me just because she needs someone to listen. It's nice when friends trust you with the most intimate private things in their lives and know they can call you anytime because they need your advice or just to talk.

Love my parents, just for being there for me, always. For the big complicated things, or something small like loaning their car. I love them, even though I don't always show that much.

Things I love Wednesday

My second 'Things I Love' and I'm already late. It's work, they needed me loads, so I did what I always do, said "yes" to all those crazy hours & went. But I still had two amazing weeks filled with lovely things.

Love I was lucky enough to find a tooth from my cat Lisa. I witnessed how she bravely pulled one out with her own claws!|

Love movie night. Last Thursday we started with our first, I took care of the food, snacks and of course the movie. Organizing the whole night is much fun already. We watched Crazy Heart with Jeff Bridges, and there is something about these movies I love. It's a bit slow, all American, filled with drama.. the acting is very important with these ones. If the actor sucks, the whole movies sucks, but Jeff is an excellant actor, the movie rocked! Can't wait for tomorrow and see what my hubby has in mind..

Love cleaning the attic. Maybe lame, but I love to clean the house. Not the cleaning part, but the results, every room smells amazing, everything is ordered and neat...

Love our new car. My hubby got a brand new car from work. It's filled with great gadgets and nice leather seats, it will save us a lot of money and now we can just take the car and travel around Europe :)

Love my bestie C., who came to visit me. Last year she moved to the other side of the country for a new job, new boyfriend and to live close to her family again. But times changed, the boyfriend turned out to be an asshole, same for her new boss. It's a shame how people have treated her. She knows hard work, is a powerful strong young woman, very sweet, and has amazing energy. Those stupid bastards don't have a heart.
Luckily for C, earlier this year, she fell back in love with her old boyfriend and they're so much in love.. And maybe she can go back to her old job (fingers cross) and will move back!
We had a lovely day in the city. We cycled, bought ourselves nice and cheap things and had so much fun. At the end of the day we made lovely diner & plans for a new visit soon!

Love my new pair of trousers. They fit well and are very nice for spring season.

Love finding loads of stuff while cleaning the house. Like my nail polish from H&M. It's sort orange, beautiful in spring and I just love those sort colours. I though I'd lost it, but here it is and still great in use!

wow. It's been a while..

Blame winter, it's been full of distractions. But I'm back, made little changes, made some big plans and I think I am happier.

In this fresh new year, I feel like it's time to start a 'Things I love' note. I love the idea to write about the things you've been grateful for in the past week. I've seen several bloggers making one, but for some reason I always felt more drawn to Rabbit Hearts' blog. A gal from upstate New York, who's learning about life and herself. Maybe because I love her writing or because her eyes are open for the little things in life that a lot of people take for granted. I love it when she gets all excited about a cheap H&M dress, cause I know exactly what she means.

I love being grateful, especially because it's not something I feel like I have to show off. You just are, you're eyes are opened to the daring funny cat, trying to catch the bird or the first bit of green in the trees in February makes you smile. And I'm talking about a real smile, not the smiles you have to give away daily when expected. No, I'm talking about the smile that feeds your soul. You can feel it in your heart and it's all you need.
Sometimes, to friends, I try to point out these wonderful things we take for granted, but they look at me like I've lost my mind, or they do agree it's beautiful but never really pause for that moment, they never really look and I think it's a shame..
Like right now, I'm sitting in front of my laptop, looking out the window, feeling grateful for that magnificent sunset I just witnessed, with Ray Lamontagne singing beautifully on the back..

So here I go..:
Booked a flight to the USA today! This fall we'll visit NE and beautiful Canada.

Love training on the cross trainer. It's exhaustive, but I feel so much better already and I realise I need to be skinny and fit for the trip :)

Love Danielle's blog! Even though she doesn't know about me or the fact I'm following her lovely blog, and it feels a bit weird to do, she just needs to be on my first TIL list. Miss Rabbit Hearts is a true inspiration in so many ways.. moving to Europe, traveling around, finding herself, moving back home and all the amazing sensations. Love my new green nail polish by Gosh. Haven't got the change to use it yet, considering my nails look like crap right now, but I know in two weeks, I have them fixed and nice again and I know it will look awesome!!

Love it when customers tell my boss they felt like they had great chemistry with me when I felt it too. It's so sweet when people actually say things like that, cause it makes you feel nice.
