Losing weight or reducing body fat?

Back in September I starved myself started a diet. It's a classic don't-try-this-at-home-diet, cause it's not healthy at all, but I need to lose weight big time! You see, today, over 13 days I need to fit in a dress for a huge party. Since my boyfriends seizure, the dieting is not doing so well. He's still recovering (his back got seriously hurt), so the days are different. We also had loads and loads of birth days and long busy days. So, since September I think I've only lost about 1.5 kg..

Yesterday I found an article that opened my eyes about losing weight. It's so logical when you think about it!
There is a difference between losing weight and reducing body fat, a known fact I guess. You may also know that muscles consume more energy than body fat. But that means, and this is totally new for me, even when you don't exercise, your body consumes more energy! Even an easy training program does more for your body: every muscle that you train, will consume more in rest!
A good way to accelerate your metabolism is strength training. Even 3 x a week for 30 minutes has huge leverage on your metabolism. Muscles consume more than body fat, so the more muscles, the more you will consume, even in rest!
